ABOUT
RED UMBRELLA FILM FESTIVAL is Ireland's sex worker film festival, organised by Red Umbrella Éireann, a collective of current and former sex workers campaigning for decriminalisation.
The festival will include four days of films, panel discussions, workshops, stripper bingo and a Saturday night party with pole dance, performances, DJs, and a sex worker fashion show. Red Umbrella Film Festival will take place across four Dublin venues: the Light House cinema, Unite the Union on Abbey Street, Unit 44, and DV8.
By creating space for sex workers’ stories, we hope to challenge stigma and shame, fight for our safety and self-determination, and build towards a decriminalised future.
All funds raised by the festival will go to sex worker organising.

GENERAL ACCESS INFO
If you have questions around access not addressed here, or need more information, please contact [email protected] with the subject line "Access."
Our venues are all in Dublin city centre. Unite the Union (Abbey St.) and Unit 44 (Little Green St.) are about a 10min walking/rolling distance away from each other. The DV8 venue (James's St.) will be hosting us on Saturday evening only, and is 5 stops away on the Luas or 30mins walking/rolling distance away. The Light House will be hosting our opening screening on Thursday evening (which is the only event happening that night) and is a 5min walking/rolling distance away from the Smithfield Luas stop or from several bus stops (Arran Quay, Blackhall Place, Mary's Lane).
We are working to have captions or subtitles on as many of our films as possible (please see film list above for updated info). Speakers at our panels, Stripper Bingo, and the afterparty will use microphones. Our panels will have live captions with seating nearby to the screen. The Light House cinema has a loop system in every screen. If you would like to request ISL interpretation for any event, please contact us as soon as you're able.
We apologise that we are not able to provide audio descriptions for our films.
We encourage all attendees to test for COVID before joining our events, and we ask that you stay home if you are feeling unwell and might be contagious. We will have free masks available.
Due to concerns around protecting the privacy of attendees, we will not livestream this year or hold events online. Please email us with any questions.
