About this Event

The Art of Storytelling

16th October, 6:30pm

Ireland is well known throughout the world for our storytelling. In 2024, Little Island Books and Skein Press co-published The Fairy Queen, a tale rooted in the oral tradition of the Irish Traveller community, written by beloved storyteller Chrissy Donoghue Ward.

For this event chaired by All About Books' Katy Conneely, Chrissy will be joined by writer and activist Oein DeBhairduin for a discussion on the importance and the art of storytelling.

What is Slam Poetry?

23rd October, 6:30pm

Join Cormac Mac Gearailt, All Ireland Slam champion and winner of the 2024 Slam-O-Vision and Rising Tide poets Dave Hynes, Sheila Ryder and Leon Dunne to learn more about slam poetry and to hear Cormac’s winning poem Caoineadh na gCrann (Lament of the Trees) performed live.
