In partnership with Big Brothers/Big Sisters of NYC, come join members of JETAANY as we share Japanese culture with NYC youth! We help introduce different aspects of Japanese culture to the kids and their big siblings. Activities include:
– Kimono/Yukata/Happi Coat Fitting (Helping pairs try on clothing and taking pictures of them. We need at least one person who can tie an obi at this station)
– Origami (Help fold Japanese origami with the pairs)
– Japanese Writing (Help write children’s names in Katakana)
– Chopstick Challenge (Keep track of how long it takes pairs to move various items with chopsticks from one bowl to another)
– Making Onigiri (Help pairs make Japanese Rice Balls)
