Welcome November, the ugliest month of the year!
We're not afraid of you, not anymore, because we have the perfect antidote: the Helsinki Milonga Weekend!
As the autumn turns into winter, the Finnish tango community invites you to spend a warm weekend of lovely dancing with friends in Helsinki. Who cares what it's like outside? Come and share moments of joy with us - just when we need them the most!
The concept is simple but brilliant:
A series of milongas chained together with local but well-known DJ's, no registration required, but this year we offer a pre-purchase milonga pass, to make the entry quicker and easier.

Tangon iloa syksyn pimeimpiin iltoihin! Helsingin tangoyhteisö kutsuu kaikki vieraat läheltä ja kaukaa El Aticoon viettämään lämmintä ja kodikasta tanssiviikonloppua säätä uhmaten.
Tapahtuma koostuu sarjasta milongoja, joissa soittavat paikalliset DJ:t. Ennakkoilmoittautumista ei tarvita, mutta tänä vuonna tarjoamme milongapassia.

Volunteering:
If you wish to help us organise the event and work for 6 hours in total, we will offer you the whole weekend for free!
Join the Facebook group "HMW Volunteers" for more details.
Price includes food (soup Friday, brunch Saturday and Sunday) coffee and snacks (during the whole weekend). You are welcome to bring your own bottle of refreshments/alcohol. On Saturday we welcome you to bring some of your local/favorite snacks for the Potluck.
As there is no registration required, we are not making any promises regarding leader/follower balance at the milongas.
When we get closer to November, please make sure you click "Going" here on the event if you are coming - we need to know how much food to prepare!
If you are a group of followers travelling together, we encourage you to use your charm and allure to bring some leaders along with you; everyone will be grateful!

How to get there:
The best connection: take tram number 9 (towards Pasila) which stops in front of the building. The stop is called “Jämsänkatu”. Buses number 50 and 59 also stop across the street. El Ático is a few minutes' walk from Pasila railway station.
General information
El Ático is a dance studio run by the tango association Amigos del Tango. AdT organise regular weekly milongas on Thursdays and Sundays. There are regular classes as well as workshop weekends and concerts throughout the year. The dance studio is also for rent. The cushioned floor is perfect for dancing!
Amigos del tango annual membership fee is 25 €.
