This distinguished event will be held on March 30, 2025, at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., from 7:00 to 10:30 PM.
We are honored that we will be joined by the Chair of the Gala, April Ellington, co-founder of the Savoy Ellingtons, vocalist, philanthropist and freedom fighter for social justice and civil rights. We are also honored to have Honorary Co-Chairs, Lonnie G. Bunch III. An American educator and historian and secretary of the Smithsonian Institution, William Cohen, attorney and former secretary of Defense and Janet Langhart Cohen, award winning journalist, author, social justice activist and playwright of Anne and Emmett.
The 2025 Women of Courage Awards:
The Women of Courage Award celebrates women who exemplify the strength, resilience, and courage of Mamie Till Mobley. These remarkable women like Whoopi Goldberg, Erika Alexander, Marissa Jo Cesar, Dorie and Joyce Ladner, Barbara Broccoli and all of the others have demonstrated the ability to transform tragedy into “a lasting legacy of courage and hope” and inspire others through their extraordinary actions.
