This educational and cultural arts experience is an opportunity for individuals, students and community groups to explore folkloric traditions exclusive to Wolof, Serer and diverse ethnic groups of the region.
Why is this conference unique? It centers around SABAR artforms (with hints of KUTIRO, SERER, SEROUBA, WANGO) and associated rhythms where the drum is played with one hand and a stick. NO DJEMBES ALLOWED!

Curated + established by artist and griot/djéli/jeli, Assane Kouyaté, to preserve his indigenous traditions, and to reflect Atlanta's large West African community and culture. From its early beginnings in 2013 till now, the event has come a long way.
