About this Event
The National Hispanic Council on Aging (NHCOA) cordially invites you to our 2024 Capitol Hill Briefing on September 26th from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm (EST) at the Rayburn Building, Room 2045. This briefing will focus on addressing the health inequities impacting diverse older adults and will feature the release of our 2024 Status of Hispanic Older Adults Report (SHOAR).
The SHOAR, which includes testimonials and data from extensive research, highlights findings from our focus groups and surveys conducted throughout 2024. This year, NHCOA's key focus areas include obesity in Hispanic/Latino communities, Alzheimer’s, Medicare Advantage, cardiovascular disease, and vaccines.
For over 50 years, NHCOA has been dedicated to improving the lives of Hispanic older adults, their families, and caregivers. The Capitol Hill Briefing brings together a wide audience, including Hispanic older adults, caregivers, youth, providers, advocates, and community and political leaders. As Hispanics/Latinos represent one of the fastest-growing groups in America's older adult population, it is vital to discuss strategies to empower them to age with dignity and optimal health.
