Queering Care: A queer parent wisdom project is a collaborative project led by community researchers Pascale Ife Williams, PhD, and E Chico, PhD, and visual artist Andy Bellomo. This project is dedicated to elevating the lived experiences of queer parents through a combination of research, visual storytelling, and collective experiences.

Our project focuses on radical care ecologies, celebrating and archiving the diverse ways queer parents—particularly queer Black, Brown, Indigenous, Latine/x, Asian, and Pacific Islander parents—navigate collective survival and care. We are committed to centering the experiences and voices of our QBIPOC comrades at all of our gatherings and Kitchen Table Cyphers. Read more on our values around decentering whiteness.

QUEERING CARE COLLABORATORS

Community scholars Pascale Ife Williams, PhD, and E Chico, PhD, research focuses on documenting radical queer care ecologies while celebrating and archiving the diverse ways queer parents center collective care and create liberatory spaces. The projects research is guided by the question: How does queer parenting imagine and embody a liberated future?

Visual Artist Andy Bellomo contributes visual storytelling through textile art, complementing the research with powerful imagery that reflects the resilience, creativity, and solidarity of queer families.
