About this Event

Mosaic Speed Dating is Hosting An Neurodivergent Friendly Speed Dating Picnic 🧺✨

Tired of superficial small talk, high-sensory bars, and the exhausting performance of traditional dating? Drop the mask, grab a picnic blanket, and join us for an afternoon designed for cool brains to meet cool brains.

The Vibe Check

This isn’t your average, high-pressure speed dating event. We’re throwing out the unwritten social rules, the flashing lights, and the 3-minute interview timers. Instead, we are taking over a peaceful park space for an afternoon of relaxed, intentional connection.

Whether you’re looking for a romantic connection, a new best friend to share hyperfixations with, or just want to spend a sunny afternoon with people who get it, you are welcome here.

Eye contact is entirely optional. Infodumping is highly encouraged.

How It Works

Up to 8 Dates, 7 Minutes Each: We’ve extended the classic speed dating round to a comfortable 7 minutes. It’s the perfect amount of time to actually dive into a cool topic without feeling rushed.

The Intermission: A built-in 20-minute halftime break to grab a snack, decompress, stretch your legs, or just sit in comfortable silence to recharge your social battery.

Low-Stress Matching: You’ll get a match card to keep track of your dates. At the end of the event, you just check "Match", "Friendship" or "Pass" and hand it to the host. If it’s a mutual match, we’ll connect you both via email within 48 hours!

Every Blanket Has Options

Don’t know how to start the conversation? We’ve got you covered. Every picnic spot will feature "Vibe Check" Cue Cards (No Awkward Small Talk!)

We know that traditional speed dating can feel like a stressful job interview. To completely remove that pressure, every picnic blanket will have a ring-bound deck of Vibe Check Cue Cards.

You don’t have to worry about what to say next. The cards are color-coded by category so you and your date can choose exactly how you want to chat:

🟢 Special Interests (Green): Made for infodumping! Easy prompts to help you share your favorite hobbies, random facts, and current obsessions.

🔵 Fun & Values (Blue): Skip the boring "What do you do for work?" question. These cards look at how you like to recharge, your daily comfort routines, and your favorite unpopular opinions.

🟡 Pop Culture & Fandoms (Yellow): Lighthearted prompts about your ultimate comfort media—from video games and movies to your Pokémon team or Hogwarts house.

🔴 Safe Options (Red): Social battery running low? Flip to the red cards. You can choose to spend the round in comfortable silence (doodling or playing with provided fidgets), or pick from a simple list of straightforward topics like Pets, Favorite Foods, or Shared Sensory Icks.

The Golden Rule: Don’t like a question? Just flip to the next card. No explanation needed, zero judgment allowed.

Sensory & Accessibility Details

We want everyone to feel comfortable. Here is what to expect:

🔊 No Loud Buzzers: Transitions between rounds will be signaled with a gentle, soft sound (like a singing bowl or chime), not a jarring whistle or megaphone.

🧸 Stims & Fidgets: We will have a selection of clean fidget tools and stim toys available, but feel free to bring your own favorites!

🧺 Seating: We will provide picnic blankets, but if you prefer sitting on a lawn chair for comfort or physical accessibility, please feel free to bring one.

🥤 Snacks: Light snacks and refreshments will be provided, but you are more than welcome to bring your own safe foods or drinks.

🤝 A Note on Tickets & Your Support Network

To keep our dating rounds beautifully organized and running smoothly, each ticket is strictly for the individual person participating in the speed dating event.

However, we fully understand that stepping into a social space can bring up some anxiety and that having a familiar face nearby can make all the difference.

Your comfort is our priority:

If you would like to bring a support worker, guardian, family member, or friend along for comfort, they are more than welcome to join you at the park!

How it works: They do not need a ticket. While they won't be able to sit directly on the speed dating blankets during the active rounds—ensuring you and your dates have a private space to chat—they are welcome to hang out close by on the grass, enjoy the beautiful views of Major's Hill Park, or hang out at our check-in station.

Before & After: They are completely welcome to help you get settled on your blanket before we start, and join you right as the event wraps up!

We want you to feel entirely supported, grounded, and safe. Bring whoever you need to help you show up as your wonderful, authentic self!

🎟️ Important Ticket Info: Advance Purchase Only

To make sure this afternoon is smooth, low-stress, and successful for everyone, tickets must be purchased in advance. We are unable to accept walk-ups or cash at the park door.

Why we do this:

Speed dating relies on an exact number of matching pairs (up to 8 sets of couples) so that nobody gets left sitting alone without a date during a round. Knowing exactly who is coming ahead of time allows us to balance the ticket tiers perfectly, prep enough personalized cue cards and fidget packs, and ensure the entire event feels organized, predictable, and comfortable from the moment you arrive.

Thank you for helping us keep the vibe cozy and stress-free! Spots are strictly limited up to 16 total singles, so be sure to secure your ticket early.
