About this Event
16th Annual Juneteenth NYC 3-Day Event: June 12-19, 2025
Juneteenth is the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States. It marks the day in 1865 when Union soldiers arrived in Galveston, Texas, announcing that the Civil War had ended and that enslaved people were now free. This day, June 19, is known as Juneteenth — a celebration of Black independence and the long-awaited moment when freedom became a reality.
