About this Event
The 168 Weightlifting Meet!
This will be a fun, in-house event designed for anyone who wants to lift, learn, and enjoy the energy of the platform.
Our new Weightlifting program will peak perfectly for this event, so every session over the 8 week block builds toward your best snatch and clean & jerk on the day.
No pressure. No expectations.
Just a great chance to try something new, test your progress and have a great time with the 168 crew cheering you on.
Format of the day
You'll have 3 atempts of each lift; Snatch and Clean & Jerk
You're final score is a sum of your best Snatch and best Clean & Jerk formulated with your bodyweight.
This does mean you will have to weigh in on the day - we will make this as comfortable as possible for you - it will be done in private and will not be displayed in the gym or on any leaderboards.
Opening lifts
When you register for the comp you'll be prompted to enter your opening lifts. The is the weight that you will lift for your first attempt of each lift. As a guide this should be about 87-92% of your max - something you can hit comfortable at least 90% of the time.
If in doubt be cautious - we want you to start strong and confidently!
Volunteers
We are looking for a few wonderful volunteers to help make the day a sucess! Tasks will include moving and loading weights. Proceed to sign up to the event and you'll then be able to select 'Volunteer'.
