An evening of Traditional Storyelling for Adults, at Lock 91.
Come with me to Marston Moor, where the Dead tell tales. Take his thigh-bone: he won’t need it – fashion a flute. I will teach you a very old tune – the beautiful song of freedom.
The Poorest Hee tells of a struggle for freedom of religion, freedom of the Press, and for the vote.
There shall be spoon-fighting, Tutting at Fornicators, and a sing-off between Royalists and Diggers.
There was a brief moment in 1647 where we hovered on the brink of becoming a democracy. What went wrong? Come and find out....
Christmas may be banned. 5% of the population may perish. There will be an interval for drinks.
