There are multiple factors to consider when placing a vascular access device. Healthcare organizations have tasked infection prevention teams to reduce hospital acquired condition rates for patients requiring vascular access catheters. These expectations can be challenging when faced with complex patients, inconsistent vascular access delivery models, introduction of guidelines and new technologies. This program will review the occurrence and risk reduction opportunities for catheter related complications.
