*The March begins at King Station Plaza marching too Westlake Park* Come celebrate our 10th Year Anniversary of Indigenous Peoples Day - Seattle, with a March, Rally and Round Dance for World Peace!
We march starting at King Station Plaza at 1:30pm. The march will be lead by Sacred Water Canoe Family and the Owaste Lakota Singers/Drummers. We will arrive at Westlake Park about 2:30pm where we will have speakers, songs, & chants.
Please wear your regalia or something Indigenous, wear your rinbon skirts, bring your cedar hats, bring your flags, bring your banners, bring your drums, bring your chants, bring your kids, bring your Elders, bring your culture. We need Peace Makers, we need help with the March, we need help with the Elders, we need help with set up and clean up.
We will have speakers on why we fought for IPD to replace and dump Columbus Day, Missing & Murdered Indigenous Peoples, Every Child Matters, Youth Speakers from UNEA/Clearsky and the Palestinian Youth Movement, Landback and World Peace. We will also have healing, songs & dancing.
We will feature the Jafra Dabke Team-Palestinian Dancers, followed by a Round Dance for World Peace ☮️, lead by the Owaste Lakota Singers/Drummers.
This event is co-sponsored by City of Seattle Indigenous Advisory Council, City of Seattle Department of Neighborhoods, Hummingbird Indigenous Family Services, Ancestral Sisterhood, and 350 Seattle.
Open to the public and all are welcome. ✌🏽 We encourage everyone to attend the City-Wide Indigenous Peoples Day events, that we will be posting in our discussion chat.
