Applications are now open for the 10th edition of the Stellenbosch Piano Symposium, an in-person programme designed to support pianists at different stages of their musical development.Held every two years, the Symposium brings together an outstanding group of local and international faculty for an intensive week of learning, performance, and collaboration.

What participants can expect:
• Individual and group masterclasses in Classical Piano and Jazz Piano
• NEW for the 10th edition: specialist Jazz faculty and jazz instruction, expanding the Symposium’s musical scope
• NEW: focused accompaniment and collaborative piano training, supporting pianists working with other musicians
• Daily concerts, including evening recitals by faculty and guests
• Lectures and talks exploring musical interpretation, performance practice, and artistic development
• Full access to Symposium events, including concerts, lectures, and masterclasses
Categories & deadlines:
• Junior Piano (minimum Grade 4 Piano)

Entries close: 2 March 2026
The Junior category is a new addition to the Symposium and is designed to support developing musicians in a structured, encouraging environment, while allowing meaningful engagement with the wider programme.
