Welcome to the 10th Anniversary Her Story Matters and Fannie Lou Hamer "Courage In Action" Breast Cancer Awards event! Join us at Capital Turnaround for an inspiring celebration of DC 's Women of Color and their achievements and courage in the battle against Breast Cancer. This in-person event will honor those from DC's Wards 1, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 & the DC African Diaspora who have fought and triumphed over Breast Cancer. Get ready for a night filled with powerful stories, uplifting speeches, song, music, poetry and recognition of incredible women. Our keynote speaker is Dr Lucille Adams-Campbell, Distinguished University Professor and Founding Director, Ralph Lauren Center for Cancer Prevention, Senior Associate Dean, Community Outreach and Engagement. Our singer songwriter is Ayanna Gregory (daughter of Dick Gregory) performing live! Our theatrical production features the Children's Legacy Theatre. Our poet is Ra Brown, who has toured with Reheem Devaughn, Jill Scott and Erykah Badu. Don't miss out on this special evening!
