About this Event
Artificial intelligence is reshaping how we create, design, and think about art in the 21st century. But how do we navigate this evolving landscape in a way that aligns with our values, intentions, and creative goals?
This three-hour interactive workshop invites you to engage with AI as a co-creator, collaborator, and conversation starter in the creative process. Through a mix of technical education, workflow demonstration and thought-provoking discussion, you’ll explore the possibilities and limitations of generative AI for creative work and ultimately decide for yourself how it might fit into your own practice.
What You'll Gain From This Workshop:
- An overview of tools and platforms: Explore a range of accessible AI-powered tools commonly used in creative areas, from visual arts to storytelling, music, and design.
- A universal framework: Understand how generative AI works and develop a framework for effectively incorporating generative AI platforms of any kind into your existing practice.
- Practical experience: Try your hand at creating with generative AI under guided instruction, experimenting with how these technologies can support or challenge your creative ideas.
- Critical insights on ethics: Discuss some of the key considerations surrounding AI in creative practices, including originality, cultural ownership, intellectual property, and bias, and reflect on the role of AI in your creative decisions.
- Creative contemplation: Examine examples of AI-generated and augmented work, while also interrogating the boundaries of human creativity and technology.
This workshop is not here to decide for you. Instead, it offers space to reflect, experiment, and make your own informed decisions about how (or if) AI has a place in your creative journey.
Who Is This For?
This workshop is open to anyone curious about the relationship between creativity and technology, from artists exploring innovative tools, to designers, educators, students, and creatives across all disciplines. No prior experience with AI is needed, just an open mind, critical thinking skills, and a willingness to question, explore, and create.
