About this Event

Join us as we celebrate 10 years of Mummy’s Day Out (MDO) – a decade of supporting mums, building community, and championing maternal wellbeing.

This special anniversary brings together new mums, those who have been with us from the beginning, families, and the amazing organisations and collaborators we’ve worked with over the years.

Special guests will include:Dr Michelle Peter is a social scientist we have worked with, whose work has a focus on health inequalities and the experiences of Black and racially minoritised families within healthcare systems. Over the past two years, she has led a major research project exploring Black parents’ experiences of prenatal testing, building one of the most detailed pictures to date of how these services are experienced by Black families in the UK. At this event, she will share how these findings are helping to shape conversations, teaching, and policy towards more equitable care, highlighting the importance of ensuring that Black families’ voices are central to driving meaningful and lasting change.
The Community Health Hub will be offering on-site health checks and providing wellbeing information, giving families the opportunity to access support, ask questions, and connect with local health services in a relaxed and welcoming environment.
