About this Event
Join Neuro Tour Physical Therapy and Mark Thress for an interactive, hands-on workshop designed specifically for vocalists who want to sing with greater freedom, efficiency, and ease. Drawing from principles of physical therapy, anatomy, and vocal performance, this seminar explores how tension patterns throughout the body can directly impact vocal quality, resonance, and overall performance.
In this session, attendees will learn practical self-myofascial and soft tissue release techniques targeting key areas including the jaw, neck, throat, tongue, facial muscles, and surrounding fascial systems. Participants will also gain a better understanding of the anatomy and biomechanics behind vocal tension, the importance of the kinetic chain, and how the body contributes to an “efficient state” for singing.
This workshop is designed to be educational, experiential, and immediately applicable. Vocalists will actively participate in guided release techniques and exercises that can be incorporated into warm-ups, recovery routines, and long-term vocal maintenance strategies.
Topics covered include:
- Vocal anatomy and tension patterns
- TMJ, tongue, neck, and throat mobility
- Fascial restrictions and their effect on resonance
- Emotional stress and tension storage in the body
- Injury prevention and vocal maintenance
- Self soft-tissue release techniques for singers
- SOVT and vocal efficiency exercises
Attendees can expect to leave with:
- Improved body awareness for singing
- Practical tools to reduce tension before performances
- Techniques to improve vocal ease and resonance
- Strategies for long-term vocal health and recovery
Whether you are a touring artist, professional vocalist, student, teacher, or recreational singer, this workshop provides valuable tools to help optimize vocal performance through a whole-body approach.
