The Great Vigil of Easter is the most ancient and solemn liturgy of the Christian year and is celebrated after nightfall, as prescribed by ancient and catholic usage.
We will kindle the New Fire, light the Paschal Candle, and proclaim the Resurrection with the singing of the Exsultet, as the Church passes from darkness to light and from death to life.
