A once-in-a-lifetime collaboration
Tony and David have known each other for over seventy years, but have never performed together β until now.
After Tony reads one of his poems, David will respond by improvising live on the violin, blending classical mastery with Celtic spirit. No script. No rehearsal. Just words, music, and the moment.

π» David Johnson
Hull-born violinist and internationally respected orchestral leader.
David studied at the RNCM in Manchester, led the Edwin Harper Orchestra in Bridlington, and regularly performed with the Max Jaffa Orchestra in Scarborough.
He later moved to Germany, becoming leader of the Kammerorchester Tibor Varga, before winning a long-term position with the GΓΌrzenich Orchester Cologne, one of Germanyβs leading orchestras, where he played for almost 40 years.
Since retiring, David has led the Ford Sinfonie Orchester and recently appeared as a soloist performing Schindlerβs List to a sold-out Cologne Philharmonie. Alongside his classical career, he has a deep love of Celtic fiddle music, including rare traditional tunes and his own compositions.
