Join Edible Streets this Tuesday 10th June for a hands-on workshop and working bee in Εtautahi Christchurch π³
This session combines practical orchard skills with nursery organisation and propagation preparation.
π Workshop: Fruit Tree Form Pruning + Scionwood Collection
Learn how to shape and manage productive fruit trees while collecting propagation material for future grafting projects.
Weβll cover:
β’ Form pruning techniques for young and established fruit trees
β’ Improving light, airflow, and tree structure
β’ How and why to collect scionwood in winter
β’ Selecting healthy wood for future propagation and grafting
π οΈ Working Bee: Nursery Tidy + Potting Area Setup
Weβll be continuing improvements to the Edible Streets nursery area.
This includes:
β’ Moving pots into the steel apple bins for organisation
β’ Relocating tables into the new potting area
β’ Setting up the first stage of a more functional nursery workspace
β’ General nursery tidy and propagation preparation
No experience needed β just come ready to learn and get hands-on!
