Lễ Vu Lan is a cherished Buddhist holiday to honor our parents, ancestors, and those who came before us. Also known as Ullambana or the “Wandering Souls” Festival, it is celebrated widely in Vietnam and is considered a spiritual Mother’s Day.Join us for this beautiful evening of remembrance:
2:00 PM - 6:00 PM - Offerings for the local spirits and the deceased.
6:30 PM - Gathering for the main event
7:00 PM - Ceremony Begins in the Buddha Hall
7:30 PM - Open Prayer in Vietnamese ( Three Jewels– The Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha, and Dedication)
8:00-10:00 PM - Gratitude to Parents dance and performance, and free vegetarian meal
Sunday, August 24 (Tentative)
2 PM- 4 PM Dharma Teaching in English
Open to all. Donations welcome.
Modest dress appreciated (please avoid sleeveless tops or short skirts/shorts).
