About this Event
'A Night at Club DeLisa' is an interdisciplinary and intergenerational
live performance that re-imagines a night out at one of Bronzeville’s
hottest clubs. It highlights the work of Black choreographers Sammy
Dyer and his protege, Shirley Hall Bass, featuring reconstructed
period dances, music, comedy and tap numbers from the late 1940’s and
50’s.
Our first benefit, an 11:30 am “breakfast show” benefit includes a
raffle, Bernard Crump's live band, signature cocktails and brunch
bites. You don't want to miss tap dancers Brill Barrett, Star Dixon
and actor Matty Robinson who will perform as Redd Foxx! Your ticket
purchase donation will support scholarships for students at the Sammy
Dyer School of the Theater and our sister school in Bahamas Dance
Theatre.

pioneering performing artist Shirley Hall Bass and in doing so
strengthens the connections within the African Diaspora through
