Listasafn Reykjanesbæjar kynnir með stolti útgáfu nýrrar bókar, Úthaf, sem er fyrsta heildstæða yfirlitið yfir víðfeðman listferil Ívars Valgarðssonar. Ívar hefur verið virkur í íslensku listalífi um áratugaskeið og verk hans hafa skipað sér mikilvægan sess meðal íslenskra listunnenda og fræðimanna.
Úthaf varpar ljósi á þróun og hugsun Ívars í gegnum árin. Í bókinni er farið yfir hvernig list hans hefur tekið breytingum í takt við tíðaranda og heimspekilega strauma samtímans. Bókin dregur upp djúpa og persónulega mynd af listsköpun Ívars; hún sýnir hvernig verk hans spretta jafnt af fagurfræðilegri leit og heimspekilegri ígrundun.
Í tilefni útgáfunnar býður Listasafn Reykjanesbæjar til útgáfuhófs 15. desember kl. 16–18 í Skáldu bókabúð. Bókin verður til sölu á staðnum og við hlökkum til að fagna útgáfunni með ykkur!

The Reykjanesbær Art Museum proudly presents the release of a new book, Úthaf, the first comprehensive overview of Ívar Valgarðsson’s extensive artistic career. Úthaf sheds light on the evolution and ideas behind Ívar’s work through the years. The book explores how his art has changed in step with the spirit of the times and the philosophical currents of the contemporary world. It paints a deep and personal portrait of Ívar’s creative process, showing how his works arise from both aesthetic exploration and philosophical reflection.
To celebrate the book, the Reykjanesbær Art Museum invites you to a launch event on December 15, from 16:00 to 18:00 at Skálda Bookstore. The book will be available for purchase on-site, and we look forward to celebrating its publication with you!
