We’re hosting a late morning walk! If you’ve been watching from the sidelines thinking, “I should go" - this is your sign!
📍 NEW Location We'll meet on the river side of Rotary Park near Chaparral Drive in open grass field (exact meeting pin https://maps.app.goo.gl/G5mLnqTgcM9aXztx7)
🕖 Arrive a few minutes early to get settled.
Pack Walk isn’t a dog park meetup - it’s a relaxed, guided group walk designed to help dogs and humans feel more confident out in the real world.
We focus on:
• Calm walking around other dogs
• Building handler confidence
• Better leash awareness
• Giving each other respectful space
• Practicing real-life reps in a supportive environment
A Few Simple Guidelines (So Everyone Has A Good Time) We just ask that you’re able to keep your dog comfortably by your side and out of other dogs’ space without permission. If your dog struggles with proximity, keep your leash short when near others and give more slack during breaks.
❌ No retractable leashes.
Please use a sturdy 6-foot leash and properly fitted collar or tool.
❌ No females in heat.
👧 If bringing kids, please bring an extra adult whose full-time job is “tiny human supervision.”
Social Etiquette Matters. We do not allow nose-to-nose greetings during the walk. Many dogs build confidence simply by existing calmly around one another. Direct greetings can create tension or insecurity. If your dog needs space - let me know. You’re also welcome to tie a ribbon on your leash to signal your dog prefers extra space. This is a walking event so we keep dogs moving to maintain calm energy. Social time (if appropriate) can happen at the end.
"But My Dog Is Reactive…” That's okay.
This is parallel walking - not a meet-and-greet mixer. If you’re unsure how your dog will do, message me. I promise I don’t bite.
⏱ Plan for a full 3-mike loop around the park (about 60-90 minutes at a moderate pace). You’re welcome to leave early if needed, but we encourage finishing the full walk when possible.
👟 Wear comfortable walking shoes. Some terrain may be uneven. Bring water. Bring patience. Bring a sense of humor.
This isn’t about perfection. It’s about showing up and doing the reps and building a community.
More detailed FAQs will be updated on the website soon www.bhcpackwalks.com. If you have specific questions, feel free to message me directly.
Looking forward to walking with you. 🐾
