Join us for a powerful, moving evening of musical theatre based on a true story that helped shape the modern world.Dreams of Peace & Freedom tells the remarkable story of David Maxwell Fyfe, a British lawyer who played a leading role in prosecuting Nazi leaders at the Nuremberg Trials, and later helped create the European Convention on Human Rights.
Through real letters, original music by Sue Casson, and archive film, this beautifully crafted song cycle brings to life the journey from the devastation of war to the determination to build a fairer, more just world.
This special performance is part of the 80th anniversary year of the Nuremberg Trials and marks a moment of reflection on courage, justice, and humanity.
The production has been developed over many years by English Cabaret through their Songs of the People project and has been performed at major festivals, including the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
It is being brought to the Isle of Man by Ian Cook, who was so moved by the show when he first saw it that he knew he wanted Manx audiences to experience it too.
