After my retreat in Florence ended, everyone slowly left for the airport. Suitcases rolled over cobblestones. Hugs lingered a little longer than usual.
And then it was quiet.
I wandered the streets alone.
No schedule.
No teaching.
No leading.
Just me… walking.
I found myself slipping into tiny paper shops, fabric stores, tucked-away corners filled with color and texture. There were crepe paper flowers in windows. Giant ones. Delicate ones. Entire displays bursting from doorways like joy couldn’t be contained.
I remember standing there thinking —
Why don’t we live like this more often?
Why don’t we make things simply because they are beautiful?
That’s where this class was born.
🌸 In This Workshop
You’ll learn how to create large-scale crepe paper flowers — approximately 4 feet tall — mounted on a sturdy base so they stand on their own.
We’ll shape and stretch Italian crepe paper.
Layer petals.
Build sculptural centers.
Create strong stems.
And watch something larger-than-life bloom in your hands.
These are not tiny craft flowers.
These are bold.
Sculptural.
Joyful.
Statement pieces.
