ππΆ Suncoast SUP Society + FPTA Community Cleanup Paddle πΆπJoin us on Sunday, June 7th for a morning cleanup paddle focused on protecting some of our beautiful local waterways and mangrove habitats around Nokomis and Venice!
Weβll launch from the North Jetty in Nokomis (our usual Fun Friday meetup spot) and spend the morning paddling and collecting debris throughout:
* North Jetty mangrove areas
* Nokomis Kayak Launch
* Roberts Bay
* Lyons Bay
* Dona Bay
Our goal is simple: get out on the water before the heat and boat traffic kick up, enjoy a great community paddle, and remove as much trash and debris as possible β fishing line, plastics, cans, wood scraps, and anything else polluting these fragile ecosystems. Every little bit helps. π±ππ¦©
β° Meet Time: 9:00 AM (briefing at 9:30)
πΆ Launch: Shortly after meetup and briefing
π§Ή Cleanup Duration: Approximately 1 hour+
Please Bring:
βοΈ Paddleboard or kayak
βοΈ Life jacket + whistle (required by FWC)
βοΈ Gloves (recommended)
βοΈ Trash bag or collection container for your board/kayak
βοΈ Water, sun protection, and good vibes βοΈ
All collected trash can be brought back to the launch area and will be properly disposed of after the cleanup.
This event is proudly hosted in partnership with the Florida Paddling Trails Association (FPTA)οΏΌ and Suncoast SUP SocietyοΏΌ β and Pops Sunset Grill will be providing breakfast Burritos to our volunteers π― β¨
