‼️OOROUGE X BAT EYES‼️❌OOROUGE blends analog grit, singer-songwriter core and digital sheen in a raw meditation
on love and connection. Inviting people to connect and rage together against the dying of the
light.
❌BAT EYES Belgian indie rock band BAT EYES resurface with a string of new singles, the first new material
since their 2022 self-titled debut. Instead of the bright, hook-heavy songwriting that helped
establish the quartet as one of Belgium’s more intriguing guitar bands, “Alamine“ arrives as
something smaller, softer, and purposefully blurred around the edges. A track that feels like it
wandered in from another room and decided to stay.
Formed around singer-songwriter Koen Wijnant, Bat Eyes built their name on crisp powerpop
melodies and a clear affection for ’90s indie rock. But “Alamine” steps outside that palette. The
song floats more than it drives, leaning into reverb-washed textures and a kind of weightless
melancholy that feels worlds apart from the band’s usual punch.
Where “Alamine” slipped into a dream, “Automatic“ feels like waking up.
Driven by bass, drums, and loud-soft dynamics, it’s a lean, instinctive track that highlights the
band’s love for simplicity while hinting at a broader, more dynamic upcoming album.
Operating as a focused four-piece with Luna De Bruyne, Tomas Serrien, and Birger Ameys, the
new material suggests a record that moves freely between states of blur and clarity, restraint
and release, and confirms that the band is just as comfortable hitting hard as they are drifting
off.
