Get ready, Copenhagen! This June we will have a weekend full of exciting Lindy Hop workshops with two of the best Lindy Hoppers from South America: Mariel & Manuel. They are visiting us all the way from Buenos Aires, where they have their big swing dance school: Swing City.
They will be traveling together with a few members of their House band, who will playing at the Friday Party on June 5th.
Saturday and Sunday, Mariel & Manuel will be offering exciting Lindy Hop workshops. One of the workshops will even be taught to live music! 🎶
Registration will open on Monday, May 11th.

🎷 Kickoff Party with TWO live bands

Get ready for a Friday Party with 𝗱𝗼𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗰! 🎶
This time, we will be dancing the night away to not one, but 𝗧𝗪𝗢 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗯𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀: the local jazz band Tropicats, and a special part of the Swing City House Band all the way from Buenos Aires.
Expect a night full of vibrant swing tunes, great energy, and plenty of reasons to stay on the dance floor.

🕺💃 Lindy Hop Workshops with Mariel Gastiarena & Manuel Bicain
📅 Saturday & Sunday
Dive into two days of immersive Lindy Hop workshops led by the renowned dancers Mariel Gastiarena and Manuel Bicain. They will feature Lindy Hop workshops on many different topics, and for one of the workshops they will even have some of the members of Swing City House Band join them for an intense and inspiring Musicality workshop to actual live music!
Mariel & Manuel have been visiting Copenhagen for almost 15 years and love our scene and its dancers so much that they always find their way back for another visit. We are thrilled to have them both back for this special weekend.

PRICES
Each 2-hour workshop costs 325kr.
There are three discounts you can receive:
• 20% discount if you are under 30 years old (260kr).
• 20% discount on the price of your second workshop, and then 10% discount on the 3rd and 4th.
• 15% discount for students – email us your student card for the discount.
It’s possible to receive all three discounts on your booking – that would make the price per workshop only 198,90 kr !

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTIONS
SATURDAY
✤ Connection Technique & Body Movement – Intermediate ✤
Time: 11.00-13.00
Description: In this class, we’ll share key tools to improve connection and make movement feel natural and efficient. We’ll work on directions, traveling, and rotations so that everything flows with clarity, allowing you to focus on your personal style and musical expression without breaking the connection.
Level guidance: We recommend that you have danced Lindy Hop at least a year or longer, to join this workshop
✤ Musicality in Action: Live Band Experience ✤
Time: 14.00-16.00
A very special class with live music by Swing City House Band. The musicians won’t just play — they’ll also share their perspective, showing how they interact and communicate within the band. You’ll experience in real time how musical ideas are exchanged, and how dancers can become part of that same conversation.
Level guidance: Open level - you can take a lot from working with musicians no matter your level.
SUNDAY
✤ Aerials for Everyone ✤
Time: 11.00-13.00
Description: This class requires a fixed partner (no rotation). We’ll start by preparing the body for aerial training, focusing on strength, coordination, and safety. Then we’ll explore partner connection exercises specifically designed for aerials, and finish by learning some of the most iconic Lindy Hop aerials — from simple to more complex — and how to smoothly integrate them into the dance.
Level guidance: Open level workshop, you can join even if you are completely new to aerials – however you must register with a partner.
✤ Rhythm Displacements – Advanced ✤
We’ll dive into a fascinating concept widely used in swing music and beyond, and explore how to apply it both in solo dancing and with a partner. This class is ideal for experienced dancers looking to expand their skills by incorporating more complex rhythmic ideas into their dancing.
Level guidance: We recommend you have danced Lindy Hop for several years and is someone currently taking some of the higher level classes in Cph.
