Deze getalenteerde familie uit het Verenigd Koninkrijk - die de 'Jacksons van de klassieke muziek' worden genoemd - schittert op het podium van tal van prestigieuze concertzalen en trekt een heel nieuw publiek aan. Sheku Kanneh-Mason is de eerste zwarte musicus in de geschiedenis die de BBC Young Musician wedstrijd heeft gewonnen. Net als zijn zus Isata, die eerder al te gast was in DE SINGEL, treedt hij op met de grootste orkesten. Voor dit concert treden ze samen aan met drie prachtige cellosonates van Fauré, Poulenc en Mendelssohn en een nieuw werk van hun Engelse landgenote Natalie Klouda.
(EN) Music plays a leading role in the Kanneh-Mason family. This talented family from the United Kingdom – dubbed the ‘Jacksons of classical music’ – sparkles on the stage of numerous prestigious concert halls and attracts a whole new audience. Sheku Kanneh-Mason is the first black musician in history to have won the BBC Young Musician competition. Just like his sister Isata, who has previously been a guest at DE SINGEL, he performs with the biggest orchestras. For this concert they perform together with three beautiful cello sonatas by Fauré, Poulenc and Mendelssohn and a new work by their English compatriot Natalie Klouda.
