About this Event
The Writing Life at The Gainsborough Hotel
Are you curious how real writers get started (and keep going)?
Does writing feel out of reach?
Would a small, meaningful writing habit fit into your day?
The Writing Life: Conversations is a new four-part series of uplifting conversations with writers, agents and editors who share the honest beginnings of their creative lives.
You’ll hear how others navigated self-doubt, found confidence, balanced creativity with life’s demands, and shaped sustainable writing routines. Each speaker brings real-world insight, demystifying the industry and sharing practical advice you can use immediately — whether you dream of writing a book or simply want to reconnect with your own voice.
You’ll leave each event with encouragement, practical tips, and a clearer sense of how writing, even in tiny moments, can support creativity, wellbeing and emotional connection.
Designed for those seeking inspiration rather than instruction, these evenings offer warmth, clarity and space to breathe
A warm welcome with fizz and canapés sets the tone for relaxed, inclusive conversation, followed by a discussion and Q&A.
5:30 pm -7:30 pm
Tickets are £15 and include prosecco and canapés.
