“Maharaj – The King” is a story of the unsung heroes who have made tremendous sacrifices to assist Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in achieving Swarajya. These people might not have fought great battles, but they diligently performed tasks allocated to them. Shivaji’s dream of achieving Swarajya was not possible without these unsung heroes.
This show is a treat to your eyes with eye-catching/awe-inspiring sets, traditional folk music, traditional as well as newly composed songs, and much more. More than 100 artists, on and behind the stage are involved in this production. The script and most songs are written and composed by Melbourne-based artists.
This show can be enjoyed by non-Marathi-speaking audiences too, as we will provide an English audio synopsis for each scene. Please bring your own smartphone and headphones to enjoy the English translation.
