Kia tau mai te rangimārie ki runga i a tātau katoa. We are overjoyed to announce the Reopening of Te Wharekarakia o Hoani Tapu, Ōmāhu — first built in 1879 by our ariki Rēnata Kawepō and our tīpuna of Ngāi Te Upokoiri, Ngāti Hinemanu, and Ngāti Hinepare.
Closed for more than two years following the devastation of Cyclone Gabrielle, our wharekarakia is ready once more to open its doors and welcome all into a space of karakia and whakamoemiti.
You are all very welcome to join us for a wonderful karakia, please RSVP for catering purposes. All are warmly invited to share in this momentous occasion.
