Step into the Magic of a Danish Julestue in Ørestad.Before there were Christmas markets and December stress, there was the julestue — the cozy heart of Danish winter tradition.
Centuries ago, people across Denmark would gather in candlelit rooms to make paper hearts (julehjerter), weave stars, bake cookies, sing, and drink steaming gløgg. It was a time to pause, create, and connect — to share warmth and community during the long, dark winter months.
This year, we’re bringing that spirit back to Ørestad.
Join us for a modern Julestue — a creative and social Christmas gathering for Ørestad neighbours. Together, we’ll make Christmas arts and crafts; and get to know each other in a hyggelig and relaxed atmosphere.
We will have various arts and craft tables prepared with guidance, if needed. You can bring your own materials too.
Food and drinks can be bought at the Zoku kitchen at the venue.
This event is opened to all Ørestad residents, adults and children alike.
