About this Event
If you're after a workout that feels like a night out (minus the 2am kebab), you're in the right place. This is a welcoming, queer-friendly, judgement-free Zumba class where you can show up as you are, move how you can, and leave feeling lighter.
Zumba is a dance-fitness program that feels like a party but works your whole body. We use simple, repeatable choreography set to energising music, so you get a cardio workout without staring at a clock. No dance experience needed - if you can move and follow along, you can do Zumba.
Heads up - this one's special.
We normally dance in our cosier studio, but this time we've got the Big Room. Translation: bigger moves, more air, more room to sparkle - and plenty of spots. So bring a friend (or three). Drag your colleague who keeps "meaning to come". The more the merrier — this room was built for it.
________
What to expect
This class is 45 minutes with one water break.
The vibe
All-levels friendly and judgement-free, with options to reduce impact (no jumping), slow it down, or take a pause whenever you need. Expect Latin rhythms, pop, and throwback bangers, with a little queer joy on top (sparkles optional, good vibes strongly recommended).
First-time tips
Arrive a little early, pick a spot where you can see me, and copy what you can. If you miss a move, keep stepping to the beat and jump back in when you're ready. Breaks are allowed, dramatic hair flicks are encouraged (optional, but iconic).
A front-row myth (tiny PSA)
Contrary to popular belief, the front row isn't always the easiest spot when you're new. Standing a little further back often helps - you can follow the people in front of you and avoid the "mirror confusion" effect.
________
Venue
We dance at City of Sydney Creative Studios (COSCS), operated by BrandX. We share the building with dancers, musicians, and other performers - you might hear someone warming up next door, and that's part of the charm.
This class uses the big rehearsal room on Level 2 - mirrored walls, sprung floor, and comfortably holds up to 40 people.
Address: 119 Bathurst Street, Sydney NSW 2000, Level 2
________
Getting there and parking
The venue is a few minutes' walk from Town Hall Train Station, Town Hall Light Rail Stop, Gadigal Metro Station, and bus stops along Hyde Park.
If you're driving, curbside parking near Sydney Town Hall can be limited and restricted. For less stress, consider pre-booking a nearby parking garage.
Arrival and building access
COSCS is not open to the public, so we need to let everyone in with our access key. **15 minutes before class**, someone from our crew (usually Pawel) will be in the lobby to greet you.
- If you arrive earlier than 15 minutes before class, please wait outside (or in the lobby if someone from our crew is already there).
- If you expect to arrive more than 5 minutes late, please arrange for a classmate to meet you at the entrance.
- If you see someone in the lobby downstairs, wave and smile through the window, tell them you're here for Zumba, and they may let you in.

Booking and tickets
These are privately organised classes. BrandX is the venue provider - they run the space, not the class, so all bookings and questions come to me.
Regulars: book through Calendance - https://pawel.calendance.com. Pick the pack that fits your rhythm and you're set.
First time or just dropping by? Grab a drop-in ticket here. No pack, no commitment — come see if it's your thing. If it's your first time - use NEW50 for 50% off.
Cancellation policy
If you booked a drop-in on Eventbrite: you can cancel up to 1 day before class for a refund. After that, unfortunately we can't refund you - the spot is already held.
