About this Event
About the Book:
The star of this book was a real-life senior rescue beagle named Colby. Despite losing his vision to glaucoma, Colby never lost his zest for life. He lived to be nearly 18 years old, spending his days sniffing out adventures on neighborhood walks and greeting every new person with a wagging tail. Colby’s journey from a resilient rescue dog to a beloved family member serves as a reminder that every animal, regardless of their age or physical challenges, has a story worth telling.
About the Author:
The author and illustrator, Zoë, has loved rocks and fossils since she was a child and still treasures her own rock collection. She illustrated this story in collage with her mom, Karen, who shares Zoë’s love for gems and was deeply inspired by her "grand-puppy," Colby. At one of his check-up visits, a photo taken of Colby sparked the idea for this inclusive, educational tale about the sweet one-eyed beagle. This is their very first book together, created with love to celebrate Colby’s life and legacy.
