Come together for Juneteenth weekend of poetry, music, and live painting over a family-style soul food supper.
About this Event

Gather around the table for an elevated evening of original poetry by Ebony Payne-English, soulful comfort food by Chef Kalin Anderson, and meaningful community connection designed to celebrate heritage through shared experience.

Join the St. Johns Cultural Council and Zora's Sojourn for Zora’s Sunday Supper, an intimate Juneteenth weekend gathering honoring the literary legacy of Zora Neale Hurston, her time in St. Augustine, and the enduring power of Black storytelling, scholarship, and Southern culinary tradition.

St. Augustine artist Danielle Torry will paint live during the event, which will then be auctioned off to benefit a beautification project for Zora's Sojourn. Aramis Stone provides musical entertainment.


MENU: served family-style

Salad:
Green Goddess with local bread

Mains:
Cajun BBQ Shrimp & Grits
Marinated 7-hour Pot Roast
Signature Fried Drums

Sides:
Collard Greens with Smoked Turkey
Chilled Black Eyed Pea Salad
Garlic Herbed Rice
Signature White Cheddar Mac with Chip Crumble

Dessert:
Candied Yam Cheesecake

$100 for individuals for shared communal seating
$1000 for a table of 8 to ensure dining with friends & family
