About this Event
Join our intrepid, intergalactic team in Southend Museum's Planetarium in a brand new show exploring the stories and stars of the zodiac, as part of the museum's Spring Space Day.
For thousands of years, people have gazed at the stars and found meaning in the patterns above them. This immersive show reveals the fascinating origins of the zodiac- beginning in ancient Babylon, where early astronomers first mapped the celestial path of the sun. Then, travel across an entire year of the night sky as we guide you through all twelve zodiac constellations. Learn how to spot each one with the naked eye, discover where and when to look for them, and uncover the rich myths and legends hidden among the stars. This captivating experience blends astronomy, history, and mythology to reveal how ancient cultures interpreted the heavens, and how you can find these same celestial patterns above you each night.
The show lasts approximately 50 minutes.
