Course Description:
In this month-long class, we’ll explore Hilo through bold color, kilo observation, and personal storytelling. Using available materials including oil pastels students will learn to see ordinary things—cats, pigeons, rust, rain—in new ways. We’ll practice exercises in color, value, and composition, then turn our discoveries into a handmade zine. Each student will leave with at least one personal zine that captures their own vision of Hilo, along with the confidence to keep creating. No prior art experience required—just curiosity and a willingness to experiment.
Enrollment Fee:
EHCC Member: $130
Non EHCC Member: $150
