In response to the New Zealand Portrait Gallery exhibition A Horse Walks Into A Bar curated by Matthew Whiteman, zinester Bryce Galloway will be running a zine-making workshop for adults.Consider the humour of unlikely juxtaposition that’s often part of collage. Mix words and images to come up with new hybrid poems and pictures. These will be compiled as collaborative group zine for participants to take home.

What is a zine?
A zine (pronounced “zeen”) is a noncommercial often homemade or online publication usually devoted to specialized and often unconventional subject matter.
Access information: The New Zealand Portrait Gallery is an accessible venue, all on one level. There is an accessible wharepaku (toilet) at the back of the venue. The gallery has automatic sliding doors and glass doors that can be pushed or pulled to enter. We have a wheelchair available for use within the gallery, and there is low stool seating throughout. This exhibition includes looping audio, areas of low lighting and CRT Screens.
