About this Event
Zine Club is a monthly social making session for people who want to switch off for a few hours, work slowly, and spend time around other creative people.
On the last Friday of each month, we’ll respond to a loose theme and each create a page or two in our own way — using collage, drawing, text, mark-making or whatever feels right. Those pages are then brought together and copied into a collective zine.
The session is relaxed and informal, with plenty of materials provided and space to chat, experiment and work at your own pace. Each session also includes a short demo of a simple zine-making or bookbinding technique, which you’re welcome to try.
No previous experience is needed, and there’s no pressure to attend every month. Come once and you’ll make a zine. Come regularly and you’ll build a small library of collaborative publications made together.
MONTHLY THEMES
The last one before we break up for summer...

We already did these...

HOW IT WORKS
Book on, turn up, and make a few pages. The host (Zoë, from Short & Few) collects everyone’s pages and turns them into a collaborative printed zine for you all to have a copy of. Your zine will be ready to collect the following month, or you can arrange to collect it later or have it posted.
Each month’s zine will have a different theme and binding format, so over time you’ll build a small collection of independently published zines made by you.
ADDITIONAL INFO
Zine Club is £15 per session. This cost mostly covers the room hire at Craven Arts, directly supporting its creative programme and community venue, as well as the printing of multiple copies of the zine. It also includes all zine-making materials as well as the bookmaking demo equipment and materials, tea and coffee, plus creative tuition and ideas (if needed!) from Short & Few.
This is an over 18s social making event.
