In this free online workshop, we’ll cover some of the breadth of what is possible with natural language processing, from fundamentals to cutting-edge generative large language models that are all the hype recently.
Topics will include:
• Data Acquisition with APIs and Web Scraping: Learn how to gather diverse textual data from various sources, giving you the raw material to do machine learning with language.
• Preprocessing Text: Dive into the essentials of preprocessing and transforming text data as a precursor to applying ML using packages like nltk and scikit-learn
• Sentiment Analysis: See how easy it is to do sentiment analysis, as we’ll fit a classification model with only a few lines of code! We’ll also explore “zero-shot” learning for sentiment tasks using an LLM.
You’ll walk away with a greater understanding of the field of natural language processing, as well as working code covering the use cases above, and resources to get you started in your NLP journey. Whether you're an absolute beginner or have some prior experience, this workshop promises to provide valuable insights and practical examples you can leverage right away.
