I’m Zac Clark. I’ve been a singer since before I could string together a sentence and a songwriter and recording artist since I could reliably stand upright to reach the record button on the tape deck.
In the magical life of music that’s unfolded since, I’ve found myself in dream after dream- touring the world as a member of Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness, Something Corporate, Jack’s Mannequin and Dashboard Confessional, playing festivals including Lollapalooza, Coachella & Bonnaroo, sharing the stage with artists from Billy Joel to Weezer, and appearing on TV shows like Conan, Today & Jimmy Kimmel Live.
As a solo artist I’ve released four records, toured them with Allen Stone, Guster & Augustana, written, produced & performed a song for the soundtrack to the Emmy-winning Disney & Marvel show Moon Girl & Devil Dinosaur, performed & co-written the theme song for Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s TNT series Wake Up Call, and had my music featured in shows on MTV & Showtime. I’ve composed the original score for the Saban feature film The Aviary, made music for the Netflix show Soundtrack by Gossip Girl & Smash showrunner Josh Safran, and I’m currently working on the score for a new documentary while I finish my fifth solo record and start my sixth.
I’ve played everywhere from Red Rocks to the Ryman Auditorium to a fan’s rooftop, and I feel as lucky to play a library or a living room as I felt playing for 70,000 people at Lambeau Field with Billy Joel. I’ve always lived for the thrill of a silent moment turning into a song, but I now believe my life is the song, its melody continuously shaped by the often astonishing connections with those whose worlds are soundtracked by my music and my words.
