About this Event
Barely drawing breath after a busy January at Glasgow's Celtic Connections, where she was part of Carol Laula's career celebration; appeared with co-writer Boo Hewerdine in their much-loved Things Found In Books project; and performed alongside collaborators, actor Blythe Duff and composer/producer Malcolm Lindsay in Lacunas Music Society's Love Loss Data , in her own right Yvonne Lyon is among the UK’s brightest and best singer/songwriters.
Her most recent album Growing Wild is her tenth solo studio release, further demonstrating her ability to deliver engaging original material with fresh imagination. Yvonne consistently combines poignant lyrics with strong, creative melodies demonstrating a voice that can be both fragile and intense.
Having supported Eddi Reader throughout the UK, performed with Beth Nielsen Chapman and co-written with Boo Hewerdine, Yvonne continues to establish herself as an artist of considerable significance.
Yvonne’s memorable and emotive performances have drawn and stirred audiences - also sharing stages with Patti Griffin, Karine Polwart, Karen Matheson, Luka Bloom, Steve Forbert, IONA and Juliet Turner; and has guested on live sessions with Bob Harris on his BBC Radio 2 show.
For this performance in the atmospheric space at St Peter's , Yvonne will be joined by her co-writer, accompanist (and husband!), David Lyon.
