About this Event
Our theme for 2024 is the Bhagavad Gita and its' continuing relevance today. Each last Saturday of the month, highly sought after international teacher, Saraswathi Vasudevan, will lead us on different topics from this profound Vedic text, drawing out insights and yogic practices of particular application to our modern lives.
The Bhagavad Gita presents the essence of the ancient teachings from the Upanisads that take one towards self-realisation. The Bhagavad Gita is a text that has inspired people from all walks of life over millennia, and has something precious to offer every human being. Even a few key thoughts from the Gita offer immense possibilities for personal transformation if nurtured through continuous abhyasa (practice) and Vairagya (dispassion).
Through an exploration of this perennial source of yogic wisdom, and with a focus on concepts for practice and self reflection, we can discover a better way to live in the modern word.
Rather than a lecture or discourse on Bhagavad Gita, these sessions will offer pointers for practice and self-reflection. Small simple steps that, with regular practice, can take us on a wonderful journey.
Whilst the whole series is cumulative, each session is also relatively self contained, so you may feel free to join at any time. Past sessions can also be made available on request.

Saraswathi Vasudevan has been immersed in yoga, yogic philosophy and yoga therapy training and classes for more than thirty years, teaching in India and internationally. She studied directly with Sri Desikachar of the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram, and continues to study and teach along with other senior teachers in this lineage.
Saraswathi is deeply inspired by the teachings of the Yoga Sutra of Patanjali, the foundation of all yoga today, and holds a special gift for making the Sutras ,and each of the classic yogic texts, totally relevant to today's life and challenges.
During this series, Saraswathi will join Yoga Therapy Australia from Chennai to bring us the authentic teachings and insights around the Bhagavad Gita. As usual, Saras will enliven and elucidate the teachings in her illuminating and charming manner, such that they may become a part of your daily life.
Best wishes,
