Join us for a special presentation with Jeff Ward of The Early Light Project, an ongoing research initiative and publication series exploring the history of photography in Atlantic Canada’s first century.
Through his work, Jeff Ward documents early photographers from the region, those who worked here temporarily, and those who left their mark elsewhere, weaving together stories that illuminate the cultural and technological development of photography from the 19th century onward. His recent publication, Early Light: Photography’s First Century in Atlantic Canada, presents a richly illustrated exploration of this often overlooked visual history, based on extensive archival research across the four Atlantic provinces.
During this event, Jeff will present in a relaxed reading-style format, sharing insights from his research alongside selected images that highlight the region’s unique photographic heritage.
