This one-day course is delivered in a classroom setting, with engaging presentations enhanced by discussion of real-world case studies.


Course Topics

Introduction to peatland monitoring: Monitoring methods for blanket peatland habitats, including justification, project design and implementation.

Remote monitoring with UAVs: Use of UAVs (unpersoned aerial vehicles) for peatland monitoring.

Sustainable monitoring: How to fund a monitoring programme, gain support, and make effective use of the data.


Who should attend?

Monitoring Peatlands is suitable for peatland restoration practitioners, as well as those managing, monitoring or studying peatlands.

This is a classroom-based course.

Notepad & pen or laptop if desired, for note taking.
