About Ashley:
Ashley Bowes Cash is a passionate advocate for transforming K-12 education in the United States through her movement, "The Path Forward." Drawing from her extensive real estate experience and witnessing the devastating effects when people do not have financial literacy, Ashley has dedicated herself to revolutionizing how we prepare young Americans for a good and meaningful life. Ashley is also co-founder of Texas TransformED.
Ashley lives in Lubbock, TX and is President and Manager of CCC Capital Solutions, Inc., which manages various Real Estate, Oil & Gas and Investment Companies. Ashley and her husband, Clay Cash, co-manage family ranches and other investments through their Cash Family Office. Ashley was appointed in 2022 to be a Commissioner on the Texas Governor’s Commission for Women and is currently serving her second term. She serves on several boards, including: the Texas Tech Foundation, the National Ranching Heritage Association, Texas TransformedED, the Lubbock Entertainment & Performing Arts Association (LEPAA), the Advisory Board at the Gordon W. Davis College of Agriculture Sciences and Natural Resources at Texas Tech University, and the board of the Meadows Mental Health Policy Institute (MMHPI). She is Vice President and Director for The Cash Family Foundation, an organization committed to education that helps other non-profits meet the needs of our community. For the last 6 years, she has served on the Finance Advisory Committee for Congressman Jodey Arrington (TX-19) and served as Chairperson this year. She has previously served on the Executive Committee for the American First Policy Institute and the boards of Southcrest Christian School and the March of Dimes, Midland, TX Chapter. Ashley’s volunteer, fundraising, and event planning have kept her busy for more than 25 years serving organizations like: the Junior League of Amarillo (2 years), and the Junior League of Midland, TX (8 years serving 2 years on the Executive Committee); Special Olympics (Amarillo, Lubbock & Permian Basin); United Way of Amarillo; American Cancer Society (Amarillo, Lubbock & Dallas Chapters); Habitat for Humanity (Midland); Lubbock Impact; and March of Dimes (Lubbock). Ashley graduated from Southern Methodist University in 1994 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish. After moving around the State of Texas for her husband’s career, she, her husband, Clay, and their four children (ages 16-23) currently reside in Lubbock, Texas.
Ashley's work with distressed homeowners revealed that most financial hardships stem not from irresponsibility but from inadequate education and lack of financial literacy.
Through her various careers in real estate, land development, banking, ranching and investing, she's gained unique insights into the lack of skills provided in our K-12 education system.
"The Path Forward" recognizes that education cannot and should not look the same for all students. Ashley advocates for strong reading proficiency as the foundation of all learning, comprehensive financial literacy that teaches practical money management,
and effective communication skills including debate. She believes problem-solving, critical thinking, and emotional intelligence are essential for each and every person.
Ashley's vision extends to coordinating education with real-world opportunities by helping students discover their aptitudes in junior high and aligning their high school education with well-paying career opportunities. Her ultimate goal is to create an educational system that respects individual differences while giving ALL Americans—regardless of background—the tools they need to achieve financial independence and pursue the American dream.
